Back to school is going to look a bit different this year. So what better way to start the day right then with some healthy breakfast foods to help sustain energy for your kids. 


Chock full of protein, fruits and healthy grains you can't go wrong with these options.


A Granola Yogurt Bowl with vanilla yogurt, gluten free granola topped with fresh berries, dried cranberries, slivered almonds and a maple syrup drizzle. Berry Nut Butter Toast with blueberry jam on top of seed bread with almond butter or sunflower butter, cinnamon, maple syrup, cashew cream and chia seeds. Strawberry Protein Smoothie with frozen strawberries, almonds, cinnamon, chia seeds, protein powder and almond milk. These options can all be easily modified to your kids liking.

Healthy Breakfast Foods: Yogurt Bowl, Strawberry Smoothie & Berry Nut Butter Toast
Chock full of protein, fruits & healthy grains, a great start to the day to sustain energy for your family!

prep time | 20 minutes 
total time | 30 minutes 
servings | 1 person

INGREDIENTS

Granola Yogurt Bowl: 

1 cup vanilla yogurt

toppings: gluten free granola, fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, dried cranberries, slivered almonds

maple syrup drizzle


Berry Nut Butter Toast: 

seed bread 

almond butter or sunflower butter

blueberry jam

cinnamon

maple syrup

cashew cream (see link for Urban Baker Co. recipe)

chia seeds


Strawberry Protein Smoothie:

1 cup frozen strawberries

1/4 cup almonds

1 tsp cinnamon

1 Tbsp chia seeds

1/4 cup protein powder (or according to package instructions for a single serving)

1 cup almond milk (or to fill a single serving smoothie maker container)


INSTRUCTIONS

1.  To make the Granola Yogurt Bowl, place the vanilla yogurt in a bowl. Top with gluten free granola, fresh berries, dried cranberries, slivered almonds and a maple syrup drizzle. 


2. To make the Berry Nut Butter Toast, toast the seed bread until browned in a toaster oven.  Spread with almond butter or sunflower butter and then Urban Baker Co. cashew cream, top with blueberry jam, a sprinkle of cinnamon, a drizzle of warm maple syrup, and a sprinkle of chia seeds. 


3. To make the Strawberry Protein Smoothie, place frozen strawberries, almonds, cinnamon, chia seeds, protein powder and almond milk in a single serving smoothie maker or blender and blend until smooth.
