New Year's Brunch - Make it Special!
Urban Lifestyle
By Christina Jeffrey
Ever since my husband and I have been married, New Year's brunch has always been a big part of our annual tradition. There's nothing cozier than laying around in pajamas for the morning, sipping our favourite latte's, and enjoying a beautiful meal together with our children and extended family.
The main entree at our table has always been beautiful fluffy waffles with fruit, maple syrup, and whip cream. We also love a delicately thin french crepe sprinkled with icing sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup. I usually pair it with a large fresh fruit salad and mimosas, of course!
There is no better way to reminisce about the past year and chat about our hopes for the new year. However, this year will be different as we won't be able to have those gatherings with extended family and friends as we have in the past, which is disappointing. This past year was a challenging one for all of us, and this new year is one we have all been waiting for. A fresh start, a new beginning, a time of hope for what is to come. It will be important to celebrate this new year by making it special, even though we can't celebrate the way we normally do.
Whatever your holiday gathering may look like for you this year, celebrating each other will be one of the most important things we can do. Relax and appreciate the fellowship and the meaning of this special season with who matters most to you.
I wish you and your family a very healthy & happy New Year!
